Miss Universe 1994

In 1994, Sushmita Sen participated in the Femina Miss India beauty pageant and won the title. She then went on to represent India at the Miss Universe 1994 pageant held in Manila, Philippines. Sen made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title at the age of 18.

Acting Career

Sushmita Sen made her acting debut in 1996 with the film “Dastak” which did not fare well at the box office. However, her second film “Biwi No. 1” opposite Salman Khan was a huge hit and established her as an actress in Bollywood. She went on to deliver successful films like “Sirf Tum,” “Main Hoon Na,” and “Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?” among others.
